Educate Midland is honored to have been chosen as one of the recipients for the 2019 Beacon Awards! The Beacon Awards are designed to honor excellence in Permian Basin nonprofit organizations by recognizing volunteers and staff of the local nonprofit sector. In addition to the award, the nominating organization will receive $1,000.

ReInvent: Choose to Succeed

ReInvent: Choose to Succeed is a transformative program for teen students who may have started down a less than desirable life path. With healthy mentoring, these individuals can redirect and build a future full of possibilities and potential. ReInvent at Viola M. Coleman High School, an alternative school provides students with the opportunity to recover course credits and accelerate learning in a supportive and self-paced environment.

Excellence in Collaboration

Educate Midland is proud of its role in bringing ReInvent to life in the community. This program is a unique collaborative effort of Educate Midland, Agape Counseling Services of West Texas, Midland Health, Midland Independent School District, United Way of Midland, and University of Texas Permian Basin.

Each organization involved played a huge role in creating ReInvent: Choose to Succeed, and receiving the Excellence In Collaboration Award for our group effort is a great example to the community that collaboration can multiply the impact.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Through our partnership with Agape Counseling, Educate Midland was able to contribute outcome reporting based on our existing relationship with Midland ISD and United Way. Working collaboratively with other local nonprofits to create a program to help the youth of this community is always the focus of Educate Midland. Our mutual goal to assist as many students as possible, from cradle to career, will continue to be Educate Midland’s passion as well as the many other academic nonprofits in our community.
